Offline billing software that keeps your counter running without internet

RathTech Billing POS is a Windows desktop app. Every bill, product, customer and report is saved and calculated on your own shop PC, so a dead router or a power-cut-hit mobile tower never stops a sale.

Why offline billing matters for a local shop

Most billing apps sold today are cloud apps. They are fine when the connection is perfect, but a shop counter is not an office. Broadband drops, mobile data is slow in the evening rush, and the one thing a customer will not forgive is waiting at the counter while a screen spins. If your software needs the internet to create a bill, an outage turns into lost sales and a queue of unhappy customers.

RathTech Billing POS is built the other way round. The database lives on the shop computer. Searching a product, adding it to the cart, applying a discount, choosing a payment method and saving the bill all happen locally, in milliseconds, whether or not the internet is up. You keep billing straight through the outage and nobody at the counter notices anything.

What works with no internet

Once your shop is registered, the entire day-to-day workflow runs on the PC itself:

  • Creating bills with barcode scan or search-to-cart, per-line price and discount, GST per item, and Cash / UPI / Card / Mixed / Credit payment.
  • Saving a cart as a draft and finishing it later.
  • Looking up any past sale in Sales History and reprinting the exact receipt.
  • Product catalogue, stock movements, low-stock and out-of-stock alerts.
  • Customer records and udhaar (credit) balances, including settling dues.
  • Expenses, daily / weekly / monthly / yearly reports and profit figures.
  • Receipt printing to USB, Windows, network or Wi-Fi thermal printers, and A4 GST invoices.
  • One-click backup to a portable ZIP file.

What does need the internet (and how often)

We would rather be straight with you than claim "100% offline, always". You need the internet once, briefly, to register your shop and start the free trial or a subscription. After that the app checks in periodically in the background so your subscription status stays current, and the optional automatic backup to WhatsApp needs a connection at the moment it sends. None of that sits in the billing path: a failed background check never blocks a bill.

If a trial or subscription lapses, the billing counter locks and shows a subscribe screen, but Reports, Sales History, Products, Customers and Settings stay readable and nothing is deleted. Your records are always yours to see.

Your data stays on your PC

Because the database is local, your sales, customer list and credit balances are not sitting on someone else's server. That matters to shop owners who do not want their numbers, or their customers' phone numbers, held by a third party. It also means the software is quick: there is no round trip to a data centre for every key press.

Local data needs a safety net, and we built one in. One-click backup packs your whole database and every product photo into a single ZIP that you can restore onto the same or a different PC. Turn on automatic daily backup and a copy is sent straight to WhatsApp, so a stolen or failed PC does not end the business. Fast enough for a rush-hour counter

The billing screen has two panels: the product catalogue on the left, the cart and checkout on the right. A cashier never leaves it for a whole transaction. Press F3 to jump to search or scan, adjust quantity, price, discount or GST right in the cart, then F4 to complete and print. Ctrl+S saves the cart as a draft. Because there is no network wait, the speed you see in the first demo is the speed you get at 7 pm on a Saturday.

Set up in an afternoon

Most shops are billing the same day. Staff accounts with PINs and roles (owner, manager, cashier) let you hand the counter to someone else without handing over everything.

  1. Install the app on your shop PC and register with the internet once.
  2. Enter your shop name, address, GST number and receipt header and footer, and connect your printer in Settings.
  3. Add products one by one or import your whole list from an Excel file.
  4. Start billing. Check the dashboard for today's sales and low-stock alerts.

Frequently asked questions

Can I bill if my internet is down?

Yes. Creating, saving, printing and reprinting bills, stock updates, customer credit and reports all run locally on your PC. Only registration, the periodic background check and the WhatsApp backup send need a connection.

Where is my shop data stored?

On your own Windows PC. It is not uploaded to a cloud database. Use one-click backup to keep a portable copy.

Does it run on a phone or Mac?

Windows desktop is the primary, fully verified platform and is what the free trial installs. It is designed for a PC at the counter with a receipt printer attached.

What happens if my subscription ends?

Billing locks, but reports, history, products and customers stay readable and nothing is deleted. Subscribe again and billing unlocks immediately.
