GST billing software that prints proper tax invoices

Set a GST rate per product and RathTech Billing POS does the tax maths on every line, prints a full A4 GST tax invoice, and gives you a GST report of the tax you collected.

GST maths on every line, automatically

Doing GST by hand at the counter is slow and easy to get wrong, especially when one bill mixes 5%, 12% and 18% items. In RathTech Billing POS you store the GST percentage on each product once. From then on, adding the product to a bill calculates the tax for that line, applies any discount you give, and rolls everything into a correct bill total. The cashier does not need a calculator or a rate chart.

You can still override the price or discount on a single line when a customer negotiates, and the tax is recalculated for that line so the bill stays internally consistent.

A full A4 GST tax invoice

For customers who need a proper tax invoice, such as a business buying for its own use, the app prints an A4 GST invoice carrying the details a tax invoice is expected to show:

  • Your shop name, address and GST number from Settings.
  • A running invoice number and the date.
  • Item descriptions with HSN codes, quantity, rate and taxable value.
  • The CGST and SGST split for sales within your state, or IGST for sales to another state.
  • Place of supply, so the right tax type is applied.
  • The grand total, and the amount in words.

Thermal receipts for walk-in customers, A4 invoices when needed

Most walk-in sales only need a quick thermal receipt, and you can print that in one key press. When a customer asks for a GST invoice, you print the A4 version of the same sale. You do not enter the sale twice: both are views of the same saved bill, and you can reprint either from Sales History at any time.

Read more about thermal receipt printing, including auto-cut and cash-drawer support, or see our plain-English guide to the GST invoice format for shops.

GST reports for filing day

The GST report summarises the tax you collected over a period, so the person preparing your returns is not digging through paper bills. Pair it with the sales and profit reports to see revenue, tax and margin side by side, and export to PDF or Excel to hand to your accountant. The app gives you organised data; your accountant or CA remains the right person to decide how it is filed.

Purchases and supplier bills

GST is a two-way street. The Purchases & Suppliers module lets you record what you buy and return, see what you owe each supplier and keep a ledger of every payment. Stock updates as goods arrive, so your inventory and your purchase records agree. Read about inventory management next.

Honest limits

RathTech Billing POS prints tax invoices and a GST report. It does not file returns on the GST portal for you, and it does not generate e-invoices or e-way bills. Tax rules and thresholds change, so confirm your specific obligations, for example HSN digit requirements for your turnover, with your CA.
