General store billing software for a wide catalogue
A general store sells a little of everything, from soaps to school supplies to hardware odds and ends. The challenge is a big catalogue, mixed GST rates and a mix of retail and wholesale buyers. RathTech Billing POS is set up to handle that.
A big catalogue without the data-entry pain
The first obstacle for a general store is getting a catalogue of several hundred or thousand items into the software. RathTech Billing POS imports products from an Excel (.xlsx) file in a single step, and exports them back out any time for bulk price edits or your own records. Each product holds its category, barcode, SKU, purchase and selling price, GST percentage, stock level and a photo.
Categories keep the billing screen manageable: browse by category or just type a few letters of the name. Barcodes make packaged goods instant to bill. See barcode billing.
Retail and wholesale prices on the same product
Many general stores sell to households at MRP and to small shopkeepers at a wholesale rate. The Smarter Pricing tools let you set MRP and wholesale prices, quantity slabs and offers. When a festival or a supplier change moves your prices, change them in bulk with a one-step undo if you make a mistake. You can still override the price on one line while billing when you agree a special rate.
Mixed GST rates on one bill
A single basket may include items at 5%, 12% and 18%, plus exempt goods. Because the GST percentage lives on each product, the right tax is applied line by line and the bill total is correct. For business customers, print the A4 GST tax invoice with HSN codes and the CGST, SGST or IGST split. The GST report summarises tax collected for your accountant. Details are in GST billing.
Quotations and delivery challans for bulk buyers
When a school, office or small business asks for a price before ordering, send a quotation and convert it into a bill in one click when they agree. When you deliver goods first and invoice later, record the delivery with a challan. Stock leaves exactly once, when you invoice the delivery, so you do not double-count. This is useful for the larger orders that make a general store profitable.
Know what you owe suppliers
General stores buy from many suppliers on credit terms. The Purchases & Suppliers module records what you buy and return, shows what you owe each supplier and keeps a ledger of payments, with stock updating as goods arrive. On the customer side, track regular customers' credit with udhaar tracking.
