Billing software for hardware and paint shops
Hardware and paint shops deal in big-ticket orders, contractor accounts and goods that go out before the money comes in. RathTech Billing POS covers quotations, challans, credit and GST in one offline desktop app.
How a hardware shop's day differs from a grocery's
A grocery bill has twenty small items and is paid on the spot. A hardware or paint shop bill may have three or four items worth thousands of rupees, a contractor who wants a written quote first, a delivery to a site, and payment next week. The software has to follow that flow, not just ring up a basket.
RathTech Billing POS supports the whole chain: quotation, delivery challan, invoice and credit settlement, all against the same customer and stock.
Quote first, bill when they agree
Prepare a quotation for a customer and share it as a PDF. When the customer agrees, turn the quotation into a bill in one click instead of retyping every line. This saves time on large orders and removes the risk of the final bill differing from the quote by mistake. If a quote is not accepted, it simply stays as a record.
Deliver now, invoice later
When goods leave for a site before the invoice is raised, record the delivery with a challan. The challan itself is a delivery record and does not move stock or money. Stock leaves when you invoice the delivery, and only once, so your stock count stays honest and nothing is double-counted. A challan is also a clean paper trail if a customer later disputes what was delivered.
Contractor and regular-customer credit
Painters, electricians and contractors usually buy on account. Record the sale on credit against their customer record and settle the balance in full or in part as they pay. Each customer's page shows purchase history and the amount outstanding, and every credit sale is a real saved bill you can reprint. Read the full flow in udhaar and credit tracking.
GST invoices for business buyers
Contractors and businesses often need a proper tax invoice. Print the A4 GST invoice with HSN codes, the CGST, SGST or IGST split, place of supply and the amount in words. Because the GST percentage is set per product, mixed-rate baskets such as paint, fittings and tools come out right. See GST billing.
Purchases, suppliers and price changes
- Record purchases and returns, and see what you owe each supplier, with a ledger of payments.
- Update prices in bulk when a manufacturer revises rates, with a one-step undo.
- Set MRP and wholesale prices and quantity slabs for bulk buyers.
- Use stock movements and low-stock alerts to reorder fast-moving fittings before they run out. See inventory management.
A typical contractor order, start to finish
Every step uses the same customer and the same product records, so there is nothing to retype and nothing that can quietly disagree with the quote.
- A contractor asks for pipes, fittings and two tins of paint. You prepare a quotation with today's prices and share it as a PDF.
- The contractor agrees. You convert the quotation into a bill in one click, with every line carried over.
- If the goods go to the site first, you record a delivery challan, then invoice it when the work is confirmed.
- The contractor pays part now. The balance stays on their credit and shows up on their customer page until it is settled.
Limits to know about
The app sells by quantity and price per item. It does not include paint tinting-machine integration, and it does not track batches or expiry. It runs on Windows with the interface in English. Test it with a few of your real quotations and challans in the free 14-day trial before you decide.
Frequently asked questions
Can I turn a quotation into a bill?
Yes, in one click when the customer agrees.
Does a challan reduce stock?

Yes. Record credit sales against the customer and settle balances in full or part.
Does it connect to a paint tinting machine?
No. It is a billing and stock app and has no tinting-machine integration.
